A pour point on Blair Road
BeanPoint is a specialty coffee café in Singapore, housed in a shophouse unit at 28 Blair Road. We opened with a simple premise: treat espresso as a measured craft, not a performance. Every morning our bar team dials in the grinder, checks water temperature, and pulls test shots before the door opens. That routine — dose, extract, taste, adjust — is the spine of what we do.
We are not an agency, a clinic, or a delivery platform. We are a neighbourhood espresso bar where the focus stays on the cup. Our menu spans double shots, milk drinks built on textured microfoam, hand-brew filter, and a small retail shelf of whole beans sourced from roasters we trust. Light pastry from local bakers rounds out the counter, because a flat white deserves something warm beside it.
Whether you live in Tanjong Pagar, work in the CBD, or wander in from Kampong Glam, you will find a calm room, steel-and-wood surfaces, and baristas who can explain why today’s Ethiopia tastes like bergamot while yesterday’s Colombia leaned toward panela. We publish our current offerings on the pour board — no secret menu, no gimmicks.

What we pour
Espresso with intention
Our house espresso rotates seasonally. We choose coffees with clear sweetness and enough acidity to cut through milk without disappearing. Baristas weigh every dose to the tenth of a gram, monitor extraction time, and adjust grind when humidity shifts — Singapore’s weather keeps us honest. If a shot runs fast, we fix it before it reaches your cup.
Espresso & Milk
Double ristretto-based drinks, flat whites, and cortados with milk steamed to a satin texture. From $4.50.
Filter & Pour-Over
Single-origin brews by V60 or batch brew for larger cups. Clarity over body when the bean asks for it. From $6.
Retail Beans
250 g bags from guest and house roasters, ground on request. Take the dial-in home. From $22.

Flavour as guidance
We describe taste using origin notes, roast level, and extraction style. A Kenyan might read blackcurrant and tomato leaf; a Brazilian pulped natural might lean chocolate and dried fig. These are signposts, not promises — your palate, the water, and even the cup shape shift the experience. Our team will always tell you what we taste today and why the grinder setting changed since yesterday.
Allergen note: Menu items may contain dairy, gluten, nuts, soy, and eggs. Cross-contact can occur in our open bar environment. Please tell us about allergies or dietary needs before ordering. We describe flavour as guidance, not guarantee.
The daily cycle
Dose · Extract · Taste · Adjust
Every service day follows the same loop. Dose: eighteen grams for a double, weighed on scales calibrated weekly. Extract: twenty-five to thirty seconds for most origins, watched for colour and flow. Taste: one sip before any milk drink leaves the bar — if it is sour, we grind finer; if bitter, we coarsen or shorten. Adjust: log the change, tell the next shift, update the pour board. Guests sometimes ask if the routine feels repetitive. It does — that is the point. Repetition is how a neighbourhood bar earns trust.
Our regulars notice when the Ethiopian rotates off. They ask what replaced it, how the new lot was roasted, whether it takes milk well. We answer honestly, including when a coffee is better black than in a flat white. That honesty extends to wait times during morning peak: we will not rush a channeling shot out the door just to clear a queue. A thirty-second delay for a re-pull beats a cup you regret on the walk back to the office.
Blair Road itself shapes the rhythm. Lunch crowds from nearby offices mix with weekend walkers exploring Kampong Glam and the Tanjong Pagar conservation area. We built seating for lingering, not turnover — twenty-four seats, no laptop-only tables during peak, window ledge for solo readers. The specialty coffee café scene in Singapore is broad; we occupy a narrow slice of it: espresso-forward, dial-in visible, pastry as support act rather than main event.
