Our story
A specialty espresso bar on Blair Road — named for the moment the pour meets the cup.
The name marks a physical moment in every extraction: the point where espresso leaves the spout and lands in the cup. It is also a reminder that good coffee is a sequence of small decisions — dose, yield, time, temperature — not a single dramatic gesture. We opened BeanPoint Pte. Ltd. in early 2026 at 28 Blair Road because this stretch of shophouses deserved a bar that treated espresso as craft rather than commodity.
Founders Lin Wei and Amara met while working at separate roasteries in Singapore. Both were tired of service models that prioritised speed over taste, or aesthetics over consistency. They pooled savings, signed a ten-year lease on a ground-floor unit, and spent three months building a bar around one question: can we dial in every morning and mean it? The answer, so far, is yes — with adjustments.

Interior · the pour ledge
Our interior follows the “Pour Ledge” design language — dark espresso tones, cocoa wood, foam-coloured stone counters, and cascara accents on the pour line that runs above the bar. Seating is limited by choice: twenty-four seats inside, six at the window ledge, and a small standing rail for takeaway crowds. We would rather you find a spot and stay than queue for a photo backdrop.
The bar itself is the focal point. Guests can watch the full extraction cycle — grind, tamp, pull, steam — without theatre. We publish origin cards, roast dates, and recipe notes on the pour board because transparency builds trust. If you want to know why today’s shot tastes different from last week’s, ask. Our baristas keep shift logs for exactly that reason.
Specialty coffee in Singapore is crowded, and that is a good thing — competition keeps us honest. We do not claim to serve the only worthwhile cup in the city. We claim to serve a cup we would drink ourselves after dial-in, every single service day. That means saying no to origins that do not perform on our equipment, throwing away shots that run outside our window, and training staff on taste vocabulary rather than latte art alone.
Sustainability is incremental: compostable takeaway cups, oat milk as default recommendation for dairy-sensitive guests, direct-trade lots when the roaster relationship supports it, and a retail programme that encourages home brewing to reduce daily commute cups. We are a café, not a consultancy — but the small choices add up when multiplied by a neighbourhood’s daily habit.
BeanPoint is registered in Singapore (UEN 202641872K) and operates under local food licensing. We welcome questions about sourcing, hiring, and partnerships through [email protected] or the contact form. If you are a roaster with a lot that fits our flavour profile — sweetness, clarity, enough body for milk — introduce yourself. We rotate guest slots monthly.
